Introductory Course:
(Two days) 15 hours CPE Credit ($990)
This course reviews the basics of IDEA. Topics covered include importing of
various file types, use of IDEA's equation editor in adding columns or creating
subset databases, and the sampling techniques available within IDEA. Additionally,
there are reviews of IDEA's extensive analytical capabilities including stratifying
files, summarizing data, searching for duplicates, joining databases, and performing
an aging analysis.
Prerequisite:
IDEA software or demo must be loaded on participant's laptop. Participants
must be familiar with personal computers and should have a working
knowledge of Windows and spreadsheet applications.
Intermediate Course:(One day) 7.5 hours CPE
Credit ($495)
This course reviews intermediate level features of IDEA that
were added in the release of IDEA 2002. Topics covered include
creating pivot tables in IDEA,
performing key value extractions and indexed extractions, use of IDEA's visual
connector, and Benford's Law. Additionally, there is coverage of IDEA's new
and most commonly used "@functions" along with an overview of IDEAScript,
the programming language supplied with IDEA.
Prerequisite:
IDEA software or demo must be loaded on participant's laptop. Participants
must be users of IDEA 2002 or should complete the Introductory
course before attending this course.
IDEAScript Course: (Two Days) 15 hours CPE
Credit ($990)
IDEAScript is a visual basic style programming language supplied with IDEA.
It can be used for automation of repetitive tasks, creating a local automated
audit system, working with other OLE enabled software, creating special tests
and/or functions, or importing files. Participants will learn to record, edit,
playback and debug a series of routines and to create basic dialog and message
boxes to enhance user interaction.

Prerequisite: IDEA software or demo must be loaded on participant's
laptop. Participants should have completed the Intermediate Course
before attending this course.
Importing Data Workshop:(One day) 7.5 hours CPE Credit ($495)
This course focuses on real life data access issues and problems. Participants
will use IDEA's Import Assistant and Record Definition Editor to import data
in standard and non-standard file formats. Importing print reports and data
access using ODBC tables will also be covered. Participants are invited to
bring problem files. Instructor will demonstrate examples of data import solutions
from the IDEA Customer Support Help Desk and participant problem files.
Prerequisite: IDEA software or demo must be loaded on participant's laptop.
Participants must be familiar with IDEA and should complete the
introductory course before attending this course.

rate of $1395, combined 1 and 1 day training courses are offered
at a discount rate of $950.

breaks. A $100 discount is available for each additional participant
