We use IDEA on almost every audit engagement, we use it from sampling to journal entry testing, to just digging deeper into things we couldn't have before, whether it has been manually where we couldn't get the same detail - it has really helped us in that way.
Amy:
We've also been able to use it on some of our larger clients that have some of the more complex transaction cycles that were very difficult to test over a large number of locations, and IDEA has made it much more efficient for us to be able to test the entire transaction cycle at one time for all locations, or all of the sites.
Leah:
We use the Financial App and SmartAnalyzer on journal entry testing, we use it for revenue testing and also looking at disbursements. It's allowed us to pinpoint our samples and not test a completely random sample out of the whole GL population.
Amy:
It also allows our newer staff to get started quicker because the tests are easy to use and the options within the test are understandable. So, it's a good tool for our newer staff to get a foot in the door for them.
