Audimation Volunteers at Houston Food Bank

Team Spotlight

April is National Volunteer Month. In honor of this, Audimation Services volunteered at the Houston Food Bank and would like to highlight the volunteer work done by our team.

On April 14, 2016, most of the Audimation Services staff took a half-day to volunteer at the Houston Food Bank. The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit, Houston-area organization that collects and distributes food to local hunger relief charities. Annually the Houston Food Bank distributes 74 million nutritious meals to various community organizations.

Nhung and Kyle Sorting Through Ketchup BottlesDuring our volunteer day, our group participated in a number of different activities, including sorting produce, canned and dry goods. Items were sorted for disaster relief efforts and into boxes to be provided to the community.  Our group sorted roughly 5,925 lbs of food that will be used to create about 4,937 meals for the Houston community.

In addition to our service day at the Food Bank, many of our employees routinely give back to their communities outside of work. Audimation supports these efforts by providing 2 volunteer days per year that can be used for any organization the employee chooses. Below is the list of some of these individuals, and the organizations they give back to:

There is still one more week of National Volunteer Month. We hope you will make a point to get out and give back to your community. To the IDEA Users that are currently volunteering in their communities, Thank You for your service!
