When merging disparate data files with no common key, matching data to detect duplicate entries can be both tedious and time-consuming. Fuzzy matching drastically increases your ability to find similar alpha or numeric entries. The Advanced Fuzzy Duplicate feature in IDEA identifies data entry errors and has multiple data conventions for recording information and fraud. With a few quick clicks, it identifies multiple similar records for up to three selected character fields and produces databases that include/exclude fuzzy matches with varying degrees of similarity. This session demonstrates different uses for Fuzzy Analysis, as well as pros and cons.
