Prerequisites Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows® desktop environment and Microsoft Office® applications. IDEA Data Analysis Level 1 and one year of consistent use of IDEA including importing, adding fields, extracting data, and summarizing data. No advance preparation is required.
After completing this training, participants will be able to:
 
  • Apply @functions to properly convert date information from character type
  • Differentiate between Boolean data type values when building equations
  • Apply @functions to extract quarterly information from a date field
  • Apply @functions function to filter information from a database
  • Identify and apply @functions that can be used to cleanse and normalize data
  • Select and apply @functions that can parse and filter specific date components in a date field
  • Identify and apply IDEA @functions that are used to perform field searches
  • Recognize the proper syntax for applying @functions for searching within a field
  • Recognize the @functions used in parsing data within character fields
  • Identify and apply @functions that can be used to find information through pattern matching
  • Identify and apply the proper syntax for building equations to match a pattern within a field
