Taking Your IDEA Skills to the Next Level

After you’ve completed the Level 1 course, or gained experience working with IDEA on your own, it is time to tackle more complex data analysis tasks. Our two-day Level 2 course is designed to build your skills and achieve higher levels of efficiency. This course provides hands-on instruction to help you learn more advanced techniques including creating equations or criteria, automating tasks and connecting databases.

Prerequisites Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows® desktop environment and Microsoft Office® applications. Familiarity with CI101 course topics. Completion of CI101 is recommended.

Carol Ursell, CPA, CIDA

Director of Training
Carol Ursell is widely recognized as an exceptional instructor, helping hundreds of professionals build their skills and confidence using data analytics. She joined Audimation Services in 1998 to establish the training department and shares her extensive knowledge of computer systems and data analysis techniques. As Director of Training, Carol develops and updates course curriculum, works with clients to customize content for on-site training and develops seminars and distance learning courses covering timely topics. Prior to joining Audimation Services, Carol was an accounting manager and audit coordinator for Cabot Oil & Gas and also worked in the audit department of Arthur Andersen. She is a graduate of Texas State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of CPAs.

After completing this training, participants will be able to:
  • Handle advanced data extract and imports with greater confidence, speed and accuracy, including PDF imports
  • Connect multiple databases to bring data together from different sources for analysis
  • Apply advanced @functions and custom functions to perform complex calculations and testing
  • Perform advanced data profiling using Benford’s Law
  • Automate repeatable processes and repeatable tasks by working with Visual Script and IDEAScripts
  • Access resources available from CaseWare for continued learning and assistance
