New Version of SmartExporter Reduces Size of SAP® Data Volumes for Export

Version 3.0 . Includes Ability to Define Joins Within Data Requests, Full Integration with CaseWare IDEA®, Authorization Enhancements, Flexible Configuration of Export Directory and Flagging Favorites

Houston – June 7, 2012 – Audimation Services, Inc. today announced the availability of SmartExporter® 2012 R1, Version 3.0, which includes new features and improvements designed to further simplify the extraction of SAP® data for review and analysis.

SmartExporter resolves many common issues associated with transferring SAP data outside the software’s environment, such as security, data capacity and timing of data downloads. Developed by Audicon GmbH, an SAP Certified Partner, SmartExporter significantly reduces or eliminates the need for IT involvement to obtain data sets from SAP. Configured data requests can be saved as "Favorites" for repeat use.

The new version reduces the size of SAP data volumes by enabling users to join data tables within SmartExporter during the data request process. With this feature, users can limit the data requested to the exact size and type of data required for analysis. Since the data is prepared beforehand, analysis can begin immediately after the data is received. Users can also define joins for pool and cluster tables, such as the BSEG table. There are two types of joins available: Inner Join and Left Outer Join. The Inner Join processes every record within the first table to check for common elements, and if there is a match in the second table, the record will be extracted to the result table. Using either a Left Outer Join or Inner Join, users can define a 1-to-many relation.

Integration with IDEA is done automatically during the installation process of SmartExporter Version 3.0 to easily combine the use of these tools. The SmartExporter SAP Components have been enhanced to configure more complex and detailed authorizations at the table level to include details such as company code or by fiscal year.

Version 3.0 also offers flexible configuration of the export directory so when multiple users are accessing the SAP system to extract data at the same time, SmartExporter can configure and control access to different servers.

Notable enhancements in Version 3.0 include the ability to flag favorites using the date and size of the saved favorite. This makes it easier to manage favorites and distinguish between originals and copies. Favorites are now flagged with colored bullets, making it easier to share and distribute data requests across time zones. Version 3.0 includes additional support for SAP platforms including EHP5 data types. Placing a data request in the queue is also simplified with support of CSV with header file formats and a calendar is included in the "Place Data Request in Queue" dialog, making it easier to pick the desired download date. Additionally, it provides the option to run an online license via a proxy server if the online license is blocked by a firewall.
